So last night, the thought of going for a run was too much to bear, and when my wonderful colleague Flansy and our equally wonderful Digital Design chum Yaz mentioned a a bev or six, I was game.
Kings Cross is one of my most inspirational areas – I love running past the Guardian Headquarters, speeding past the creatives at St Martins (secretly seething at the fact they get to create art all day & I don’t). I just hadn’t considered The Filling Station. Truth be told, I couldn’t see what it was… it’s kind of hidden from the view I had.
I was thoroughly pleased I went. I was impressed by the beautiful views it had to offer – overlooking the canal – drinking prosecco on tap in the warmth. Completely charming, completely industrial, simple and beautiful. There was a choice to eat in the pop up restaurant, Al Fresco, or just sit on the wooden benches outside by the bar.
We had one too many, met some boys, and then I left to go home and spend time with my husband and play with my new phone.
Happy Summer Daze
